The APEX Gyro Sonde

The Geovista APEX Gyro Sonde is a Three-axis Micro-Electromechanical System (MEMS) device that measures borehole trajectory data. The APEX is a Continous All Angle North Seeking Gyro sonde. It can be run in both wireline and memory modes.

The APEX Gyro: Your Next-Generation Borehole Survey Tool.

  • The Geovista APEX Gyro Sonde provides fast, continuous, orientation and deviation surveys of boreholes in any environment, including steel casing and drill pipe. Crucially, it can measure in all directions and inclinations. It is highly accurate, and does not require any field calibration. 

  • The GV APEX Gyro can also be combined with other Geovista Sondes like the Gamma Ray, for example.  It is available for operation in two modes: 

  • Real-Time: Runs on an E-Line and provides real-time trajectory data. 

  • Memory:  Runs on a slick-line and stores data in memory that can be downloaded once the sonde is back at the surface.
